Kleinfelder is seeking multiple Environmental Construction Inspectors to be based on projects with the 5 boroughs of New York City. As an Environmental Construction Inspector, you will work in our team-oriented environment, helping to provide our Client with professional civil construction oversight services on a diversity of challenging projects including utility infrastructure engineering. As an Environmental Construction Inspector you will perform specific work on projects including:
  • Environmental Remediation
  • Excavation oversight
  • Barrier Wall Installations
  • Installation of Subsurface Depressurization Systems
  • Oversight of Dredging Operations
  • Storm Hardening Projects
  • Remediation and Demolition of Buildings
  • Monitoring safety activities of contractors
Additional Responsibilities include:
  • Coordination and oversight of various subcontractor activities,
  • Daily field report preparation,
  • Quality control of field data collection to ensure consistency with established procedures,
  • Public relations and notifications of ongoing and upcoming field activities,
  • Direct client interactions including monthly team meetings to discuss ongoing activities,
  • Obtaining, verifying, and maintaining project documentation pertaining to daily quantities of work and work activities, record drawings, project events, correspondence, and recordkeeping,
  • Operating with a high degree of independence, self-direction and initiative,
  • Managing other duties as assigned
  • Construction administration, and
  • Performing a variety of field assignments.
As both a Public and Client-facing inspector, this position requires an excellent attitude and an ability to communicate effectively with project management, clients, contractors and sub-consultants This position offers a great opportunity for an individual who is eager to take on a larger role as an inspector, and to be entrusted with various levels of responsibility. We do require that candidates for this position have 4-5 yrs of civil construction oversight experience in the Public Sector or Municipal Client area, a BS in Environmental Engineer, Geologist or Environmental Science, possess excellent communication and writing skills, and have familiarity in using Civil 3D, ArcGIS and Microsoft Office.
